The history of Acura is very important to the history of the car industry. Without Acura there would still be luxury new and used cars just not of the quality that they have produced. Their history is very brief; to be exact it has only been 23 years since their start. In that time Acura has become one of the best luxury car manufactures in the country. Acura succeeds because of the many goals and ideas they believe in. They also help contribute to many different charities, this makes them not only one of the best car companies but one of the best moral companies. They show us that it is good to give.
History
In 1986 Honda decided to make a new type of change, one that would change the world’s idea of a luxury car. They wanted to bring a whole new line of cars. With this Acura was born. The new idea was to bring a nice luxury car that still performed and kept up with other cars that were around. After a decade of research Acura launched its first car line, the Legend. This car had a significant effect on all other luxury cars since then. This car showed the values that they wanted to represent like precision, performance, and handling. With this car they would soon blaze a way to the best car awards.
Soon after the Legend Sedan the Legend Coupe and also the Acura Integra, a sports car, would be introduced. These cars would start the Acura craze in the United States. These cars brought forth the new look and the wonderful performance that they wanted to achieve. Because these cars were so favored they became some of the favorite of the 80’s. When the 90’s started a new car would bring about another new craze, one that we would never forget as car buyers. Then there were always the new fads that everyone wanted.
The new thing in the 90’s was the luxury SUV. This made everyone feel comfortable and also made them feel powerful. Since it was very seldom that a company would sell such a big vehicle with luxury Acura exploded in the market. Also during the 90’s the Acura Coupe won Motor Trend’s import car of the year award and the Integra was becoming ever more popular too. Soon the new millennium was upon us and a new wave of cars was here. The MDX was introduced and became one of the hottest cars around. A few years later we are standing here asking ourselves about Acura.
Thoughts
Acura wants to bring many things to the car industry that have never been seen before. They want to combine innovation and the new technologies to come up with something unimaginable. They have been producing high quality vehicles for over 20 years and are still making new progress towards the goals they want to achieve. These are the people who will do great things in whatever field they join. Many of the new inventions they have come up with have been used in a lot of other cars today, for example, the precision all wheel steering. These new ideas and inventions will lead us to a better organization and more safety for all who use these cars.
Cars
In the few years that Acura has been producing cars they have made many. The first few cars were that of Legend. These cars not only brought better aesthetics but also much more performance. These cars exploded onto the market and eventually were looked at as some of the cars that make today’s vehicles safer and more efficient. After the Legend there were a few more cars like the Integra and NSX. These vehicles also won a few awards as well as the Acura Coupe.
A few of the newer cars include the RL. This car is for the more tech-friendly person. It brought many new innovations like Bluetooth and DVD integration. With this car Acura was able to give the American consumers the most powerful engine yet. This was a great innovation for this company and it should continue to prosper forth into the future.
Future
The future of this car company will look great because they are bringing new ideas to the table and are beginning to show more of their individuality. The ZDX will show next year for the first time and Acura hopes that everyone will think it is a another great addition to the family. With this car they still hold their thought of performance and looks. This series of car is sleek and beautiful. It will be something that everyone will be happy with. Many of the years have gone by since the start of this company but yet they have kept their beliefs and the same look. This company is great because of this, without them holding onto who they are they would be lost in the car world.
